Sam Pickett is a Virginia-born apparel designer and graduate of Parsons School of Design. Now based in New York, he grounds his work in research and field testing, exploring the intersection of function, detail, and heritage—particularly through the enduring lens of workwear. By studying how garments have served people across decades, Sam develops design solutions that integrate modern performance technologies with timeless construction. His goal is to create clothing that balances utility and innovation, prioritizing durability, longevity, and adaptability for today’s diverse environments and wearers.

At the heart of Sam’s philosophy are three guiding principles:

  • Fabric – He works primarily with organic and natural blends, chosen for their comfort, durability, and ability to age with integrity. These fabrics provide natural moisture absorption, warmth, and longevity, ensuring that each garment serves the wearer well over time.

  • Function – By drawing on historical workwear elements, Sam designs pieces that go beyond trends, offering practical solutions for modern activity while honoring tradition.

  • Versatility – Each garment is conceived to be multipurpose, encouraging a concise, intentional wardrobe that supports a wide range of lifestyles without excess.

Through this approach, Sam seeks to evolve apparel for the modern world—creating garments that are equally at home in the city, the outdoors, and everywhere in between.
